Pics from the wedding I went to on Catalina. It rained the entire time and looked like Lord of the Rings. Plus there was champagne! And a kid who could do the worm. And Alex and Jeremie pledging their eternal love.

Just finished a commission based on my "Ghostwords" piece! OG on the left, new version on the right. Also, the Small Works group show opens tonight, but you already knew that because you're there having a good time without me.
My friend Brian put together this group show at Lorem Ipsum Books in Inman Sq. The opening is Thursday, December 9th at 7:00 pm and the show runs through Jan. 3rd. Come check out work by Scott Murry, Jennifer Lewis, Walter Sickert and yours truly. Word on the street is that Pretty Things Brewery is sponsoring the event. I KNOW!

Happy Thanksgiving! Yesterday Fish and I painted at Karmaloop AND IT WAS THE BEST TIME EVER. It was a really nice day and when we were done we ate veggie chili served by a surly woman we dubbed "Babs". My piece was about girls and skulls and Fish made robots! Thanks to everyone at Karmaloop for being such gracious hosts and to everyone who stopped by and gave us hi-fives. In way more annoying news, my webhost is being a little buggy. If you need to get in touch with me email me at amandabrownclarke@gmail.com.
Here's a sneak peek at a project I've been working on! Also, I wonder what fun things I'll do this summer? Oh wait. It's Thanksgiving. The end of summer/beginning of Fall flew by and the next couple of weeks are going to be just as busy.
Thanks to everyone who was at Space 242 last night for the first Freeky Fright Nights opening. I'm honored to be in such a great show with so many talented and super nice people. The second opening is Friday, October 29th so if you were too busy working on your Snookie costume to make it to the show last night, there's still a chance for you to drink free beer with fun people. Visit Space242's website for more info.
Cranking out the last couple of pieces for the 242 Halloween show. "Ack."

I'm in two Halloween themed shows that are fast approachin'. The first one is 1975's 2nd Anniversary Show-"Cinemonstrum". It opens this Friday, Oct. 1st. If you're in Rochester go support a great gallery and many fantastic people. The second is a group show at the newly re-opened Space 242 in Boston-I'm showing with another super cool group of artists and if you haven't already been to a 242 opening this is a perfect opportunity. It's not freezing yet and it's a Halloween costume party! BOOM. Here's a before and after of a piece I did for the 242 show-sketch with digital color on top, final painted/collaged piece on the bottom.
Detail of my finished deck.
Awesome!

Thanks to everyone who braved the poo weather to come to the show at last night! Also a big thank you to the super nice couple who bought my deck. Puppies and bike messengers thank you too! Thanks to Brian Connolly for getting me involved. Thanks to the Lower Depths for having tater tots and a non judgmental attitude towards people who might have had one too many free adult beverages and just wanted to stuff their face with said tater tots.
Shipping this off to the ROC tomorrow for 1975's 2nd Anniversary Show-CINEMONSTRUM! It's movie monster themed! The show runs from Oct. 1 - Nov. 12, 2010. The opening's on Friday, October 1st from 7-10. And check out The Worst is Yet to Come while you still can! Watch this video on the youtube to psych yourself up! Wooooo!
Come out this Thursday to the Fourth Wall Project to drink some 'gansett and help puppies. And bike messengers. Here's my in progress shot of my contribution. I got a lot more done last night after I took a break and watched some of the VMA's a.k.a. "That Awards Show Featuring Songs You've Heard in Spin Class". I liked the part where they had tiny children dance on stage with Justin Bieber to make him seem less tiny and childlike. Or the fact that the whole thing looked like it was being filmed in a space ship. That was on fire.

Friends, Bob & Timmy's, Horseneck Beach, Tortilla Flats, Snickers Ice Cream bars, and I went fishing. I used Rollip to filter these photos. See you later, one crazy summer.

Last night some friends and I checked out the Charles LeDray show at the ICA and it was the craziest and coolest thing ever. If you were ever into collecting minitures as a kid (aka if you are female) it is particularly mind blowing although anybody will be impressed by LeDray's talent. There are literally thousands of tiny handmade pieces of clothing and accessories and every detail is spot on. Out of the entire show there are only three found objects, which means when you're looking at the painstakingly recreated clothing stores LeDray made everything from the dust covered drop ceiling to the rows and rows of pint sized hangers.
The last time I was in Chicago I was looking for some Mike Giant books but ended up getting Tattoo Mystique-The Art and World of Angelique Houtkamp instead. Check it out! Also the staff at Quimbys was super nice and helpful. Two thumbs up. Here's a flash/tattoo inspired lady.
The first issue of Paper Machete is here! I'm so stoked to be part of this awesome magazine that has brought together so many amazing and talented people. Hi-fives all around and a big thank you to Jason for including me in the first issue. You can see a preview of what's inside here. Ask me if you're interested in getting a copy.
Experimented with a new combo of digital and traditional for this test-going to make it into a finished piece. WITH SOMETHING IN THE WATER. And the water won't be a photo. Also, this is the coolest thing I got from Quimby's this past weekend in Chicago. Batforum. Prepare to pee your pants. Unless you don't think the idea of bats talking about art is funny. I also saw Fantastic Mr. Fox. I hadn't cause I was all "whatever. how good can it be?" The answer is really "cussing" good.
Look-more sketches of girls! Also a big thank you to all the people who came out to the second "Get Your Freak On!" opening at Space 242 last Friday. The artist talk for the show is May 21st from 7-8pm. For more info got to http://www.space242.com/.
Wow. I've really taken a break from this haven't I? I've been busy, I swear! I went to Chicago! Tonight I'll be at Space242 for the 2nd opening of Get Your Freak On! Be there! Free adult beverages! 242 E. Berkeley St 2nd Floor 6-8pm get there on time because they literally kick everyone out at 8. xoxo-Amanda
R.F. O'Sullivan's has amazing burgers, it's true. But their best kept secret was their veggie burgers. They were handmade and they were amazing. And then one day they were gone. I just wish I knew what I did to push them away, you know? I imagine bumping into them on the street and practice what I would say. In the end I'd probably just play it cool, even though they were the only veggie burgers I ever truly loved.
