BY THE PALE MOONLIGHT
Ghosts, Ghouls, and other Creatures of the Night
1975 x Surface Salon’s Three Year Anniversary show.
October 8 – November 5, 2011
Opening Night: Saturday, October 8, 2011, from 7-10pm
It’s been three AWESOME years since 1975 and Surface first partnered up, and we can’t just contain the party to the old space. We’re going to kick off our next year by welcoming a new art space into our family, and this one is a doozy!
To make it even more special, we’ve reached out to an INCREDIBLE roster of talented artists to help us make this show even more memorable than our other shows.
The show will be on the third floor above Flour City Bakery, in Rochester’s brand new art space (whose name will be revealed that night), located in the Rochester Public Market, 280 Union St. North, Rochester, NY 14609.

Solo show at 1975 in November!
I'm so happy and honored to be the first solo show at 1975/Surface Salon's new space in November! Even though I've lived in Boston for the past 6+ years, I always love going back home to visit Rochester and in November I'll be bringing a boatload of new art with me! This group of work is inspired by my love of going to shows, the perfectly mixed cocktail, and my graphic design heroes. Big thank yous to Erich for being such a awesome person to work with and to my friends and family for fielding endless art related opinion questions. You're the tops! Irony alert: in Boston and Cambridge, having "happy hour" or drink specials in a bar or restaurant is ILLEGAL. Thank you very little, pilgrims.

Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series
Thanks again to everyone who came by Barlow's last night for the Bombay Sapphire live painting! I had a great time and am adding the finishing touches on my piece today. My painting will be on view at Barlow's once it's done and there's going to be a show of all of the Boston artists who participated in the live painting events at the Mills Gallery from Sept. 17th-Oct. 2nd. You can see more pics from last nights event on The Weekly Dig's flickr page. Many thanks to the Barlow's staff, Kat Hall, The Weekly Dig and the awesome Scott Murry.

Also if you're in Boston, pick up a copy of The Dig-two of my pieces are on the cover. A big thank you to Scott Murry for hooking me up with both of these opportunities.

Forever 21 Frames
Who would've guessed that the store all girls have a love/hate relationship would ever add cute, quasi-Parisian frames to their line up of cheapee clothing and accessories? I found these frames at Forever 21 months ago and they now are both filled with art. Finished up the blue haired girl today!
Betty Crocker Recipe Cards
I spent a couple of days last week on the Cape with my parents. Did I kayak? I did. Did I lounge about? Yes. My mom and I also went to some pretty sweet thrift shops and I found a full set of the Betty Crocker Recipe Card Library. If you think you can live a happy life without access to this set let me ask you this: what do you do when you need to pack a lunch for your "Happy Traveler Sing-a-long"? I bet it wouldn't occur to you to put a bunch of donuts and munchkins in a wicker basket for the trip. Or maybe you're wondering what men like to eat-do you have a handy section in your other cookbooks called "Men's Favorites"? I bet you don't. It also probably wouldn't occur to you to serve fishsticks for breakfast. Just saying.

Hull hull hull
This will go down in history as the summer I was forced to relax. Ate delicious food, drank novelty drinks, went to the beach, and discovered the arcade at Nantasket beach.

Pimms is #1!
A doodle of my favorite summertime cocktail. And a recipe!
- Fill a Collins glass with ice. Or a pint glass. Or a mug, whatever, I'm not here to judge.
- Mix 1 part Pimms Cup No. 1 with 2 parts lemonade.
- Stir it up.
- Top off with club soda, or use lemon-lime soda if you want it to be sweeter.
- Stir.
- Garnish with a slice of cucumber, mint, and lemon wedge if you're extra fancy.
- If you don't have lemonade, use Sprite or 7-Up. (I also read a version where someone used Fresca.)
- If you use ginger ale, throw in extra lemons.
- Apple slices, oranges and strawberries can be added.

Everything's coming up Milhouse
Finally figuring out how to enjoy this weird summer. Big changes job wise make big changes everything else wise. Thanks to my amazing friends and very nice boyfriend I am accepting this as a time to relax, recharge and make things. Cooking, reading, traveling, arting, spending quality time with people and rediscovering my love of Ribbit King, the best frog oriented golf video game out there. Thanks, universe.

Now with more website...and a new whip!
In addition to adding a bunch of new work to my portfolio site this weekend, I also picked up a garage sale bike that restored my faith in the universe. I want to get a basket for it and ride it on a rainbow with a puppy and a baguette and a striped dress and french garage rock playing in the background.
Uh...so go to my website.

Weekend Update
I'll be spending this rainy weekend doing some much needed revamping of my portfolio site. Updating it with lots of work from WGBH in addition to my recent work with MIT and a newer bigger sketchbook section. Giddy up.

Aliens!
Birthday month is officially over so it's time to stop beligerantly forcing people to pay attention to me and get back to more socially acceptable forms of connecting with others, like sharing personal information on the internet. I'll go first-I've been working on some designs for a mobile game that a friend of mine is producing. It's alien/food web themed-here are some of the characters I've been making for the game. Creating a total of 105 of these l'il guys!
